At the Dinner Table

All The Info

For years, I have served as a valuable source of information to those seeking inspiration, help, or guidance. I finally decided to own that role and be intentional about it. I started writing about my passions, thoughts, and curious insights about human behavior, interactions, and the psychology of everything as far back as I can remember, and it has been with me ever since.

After working in the public & private business sectors for over twenty-five years, teaching undergraduate and graduate school for more than fifteen years, and leading in roles specific to social sciences and mental health, I decided I needed to make a change, so I could continue to extend my reach to help others.  Aside from my dedicated work specific to examining life satisfaction, stress, and counseling utilization in police officers, I have worked with community members in enrichment programs, mental health awareness, crisis response & intervention, workforce engagement, veteran wellness, and published Behind The Blue in 2021.

Earning a Doctorate Degree in Education with a concentration in Counseling Psychology & Supervision and a Master's Degree in Human Services & Counseling focusing on Applied Behavioral Science coupled with years of experience, I have something to bring to the table, and thus founded Doc's Corner Chat with a core mission to serve and help others.  If I can be there for one person, just one, and that person can be there for one person, just one, and so forth, together we can all create a community of growth, engagement, and wellness.

Feel free to listen & learn with Doc's Corner Chat podcast, explore the blog, share your insights, and follow our positive impact of helping others on Twitter and Facebook.  I also welcome you to reach out if you would like to collaborate on a community project together.

Testimonials

In the time I worked with Mary, it was easy to see why she was so successful. As a hard worker that goes out of her way to collaborate across teams, she isn’t afraid to do what is necessary to get the job done. She is a consummate professional, and always puts her clients first; an attribute I viewed daily while working with her. Her exemplary dedication and ability to bring enthusiasm to a company’s culture would make her a welcome asset to any organization. Jim B. - Sr. Executive

Mary Allen is a dynamic professional who brings a well-rounded wealth of knowledge to the table. Mary not only understands the challenges of workforce strategy management, she also has a deep understanding of the human factor as it applies to these strategies. Beyond my initial business relationship with Mary through an agency she represented years ago, I have since then often reached out to her for advice as a consultant. If you are looking for an individual who combines a higher level of education with a wide and true understanding of how to best respond to the ever-changing management of talent, I highly recommend Mary! Nancy S. - Sr. HR Professional

I have had the pleasure of working with Mary Allen on some critical skills needs for my Operations teams. Mary is an extremely capable and dedicated business professional. She has strong analytical, relationship-building, and communication skills which are further enhanced by her solid expertise in matching people with jobs. Plus, she's cheerful, ethical, and extremely diligent. Her colleagues and coworkers have glowing praise for her work (ditto for me). She won't stop working until her clients are completely satisfied.
